Life is too short

This is one of the most used and abused quotes of our times. We use it for travelling, learning and everywhere you can think of. It’s easy to narrow our minds and thoughts and just worry about our bucket list items. Life is too short for a lot many things that we take for granted.

I am reminded of an incident that, turned the lights off in, my friend’s life. In our school days my friend had many differences with his dad. They would argue and fight over petty things like toys, play time and what not. I remember this one morning when I met him in the school. He was, hot as the sun, furious over his dad, for not buying him a toy. He told me that he was never going to talk to his dad again. He had made his mind clear and there was nothing that could move his decision.

Life flipped for him and he never again talked to his dad. Years have past by. We both still talk about this incident occasionally, specially when I upset my loved ones. He keeps reminding me, “life is too short.” He reminds me everytime that he can not talk to his dad even if he wants to. He lost his father in a fatal car accident the same day he said that he would never talk to his dad again.

We should not wait to be a victim to learn from life. It’s easy to take things around us for granted. The things we take for granted are the things that make us who we are. They are the reason for our existence. But we simply neglect, ignore and sometimes abuse them.

Life is too short to take it for granted.

How would you feel if the last moment you share with your loved ones was of sorrow or anger?
